Samsung Galaxy S3 rewrites the record books

The hype surrounding the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone continues as it has become the most pre-ordered gadget ever.

Ahead of its UK launch this Tuesday (May 29), the Samsung Galaxy S3 has already etched its name in the history books as a reported nine million people have pre-ordered one.

Media reports have suggested that demand is so high for the newest Android smartphone that Samsung have employed 75,000 workers to ensure they can cope with the record-breaking number of orders being placed.

Let’s check out the spec of this piece of tech history:

S Voice

It has voice-recognition functionality that allows users to answer or reject a call, adjust audio levels if you’re listening to music, take pictures and turn off the alarm. This rivals Apples’ Siri voice-recognition software which was released with the iPhone 4S.

Direct call

Ever started typing a text message and then realised it’s probably easier just to ring the other person to explain what you mean? Simply lift the Samsung Galaxy S3 to your ear and it’ll call them automatically.

LTE

Stream videos, play games or upload to the cloud at between 30 to 60 megabytes per second with LTE.

Other cool stuff

There’s facial recognition that allows you to share photos quickly and easily, a 4.8-inch HD screen, AllShare Cast means you can display what’s on your phone on a TV screen wirelessly and overall it’s a pretty slick bit of kit.

What the experts say…
