(But we weren’t running scared, we were raising money for charity by climbing a massive mountain!)

You might be aware (through our Facebook page, Twitter stream @08direct, and pleading emails!) that eight intrepid members of the 08 Direct team recently undertook an eight hour climb up Tryfan Mountain in Snowdonia in aid of charity.

Known for its rugged crags and steep climbs, Tryfan is one of the most recognisable peaks in Snowdonia and at 3.010 feet above sea level it is the fifteenth highest mountain in Wales. But it wasn’t the height of the mountain that made it a major challenge, it was the fear-inducing climbs up sheer rock faces with massive drops below! As a team of novice mountaineers, it was a huge challenge which required great bravery and lots of teamwork to support each other.

Although it was a tough physical and mental challenge, 08 Direct’s team embraced it with a positive attitude and had fun all the way through the trek.

With your help, we succeeded in raising £1,500 for Diabetes UK – a cause close to our hearts as two of the team suffer from diabetes. So, if you were one of the kind people who sponsored us, we’dlike to say a huge thank you from everyone at 08 Direct.

We took loads of photos on the day (and were even Tweeting as we went up the mountain). As an 08 Direct customer you’ll undoubtedly know the names and voices of the team members that you speak to regularly, but you may not know what they look like. So although we don’t exactly look our best after several hours of climbing a mountain (and let’s be honest the pink and pink fluffy wigs don’t anyone any favours either), we thought you would like to see us anyway.
